I hadn't realised that King had a new book out until your post below. Why does Bezos even have an algorithm if it can't recommend King to me within nanoseconds of a new release?
I'm interested but with your permission I'll catch up after The King I'm kinda committed to read the next couple of books on the to be read pile and I've just started Chuck Tingle's Camp Damascus so I want to next read 5 books by women authors before I read another dude. As prolificate a reader as I am even I struggle to read them before the Cheeseburger Gothic Bookclub. Though having it over zoom am I to presume a dress code - smoking jacket, leather chair and a fez?
Might be a player down the track - but I've never read Stephen King and I ain't starting just now due to other books in the To Read stack (actually I did start one book years ago and didn't make it past the first chapter...just wasn't for me. No I don't know which book either...)
count me in - for some reason i've never got around to reading the other books which is something lacking. So i'll have to give a point of view from someone coming into it cold without character history and how it stands up by itself. Just yell if you think its too much of a stretch and i'll join the next one.
yep finished Holly a couple of weeks ago, had been hanging for it most of the year. Happy to discuss
I'm looking at December, a week or so before Christmas, to give everyone a chance to catch up.
I'm keen.

Count me in also, respect for the captains call on picking Holly.

A good Fez is harder and harder to come by these days.

I highly recommend adding The Stand to your "to read" list. Mr King destroys worlds like no other.
Testify brother
Count me in.
Looks like I am heading to the bookshop this afternoon.

Same here; I think it'll be a struggle to finish Holly in time for bookclub, never mind the preceding novels, so I'll be going in cold 😊
We probably won’t meet until the week before Christmas.
