I did the move to Aus account too. I resisted for years because sometimes there were books that weren't available on the Aus Kindle store. But after a time I found all the books I wanted were in the Aus store too. Then just last month I found a book that wasn't on the Aus store :(

Thanks for the book recommendation! I'm currently hoping for a new Kindle Oasis.

Try a Kindle Paperwhite. It's very nice and basic with a long battery life.

Yeah I’ve had a paperwhite. It was good. In fact it should be hanging around somewhere

I am a bit annoyed with kindle as its my go to e-reader, but isn't compatible with the e-book from my public library. Not a big deal but it would be better if I didn't need multiple devices. The novel looks intriguing. What's everyone else reading? I'm engrossed in the 2nd book in the Radiant Emperor duology by Melbourne writer Shelley Parker-Chan's 'He Who Drowned the World' -brilliant, or should I say Radiant stuff.

Got me a signed copy of SPC's first book somewhere. It's good stuff.

Technically I'm reading Making Nice by Matt Sumell, but only because ms insomniac has been stalking her daughter and saw him in some posts, so she thinks there may have been some "entanglement", and as such we bought his book. He's pretty funny and certainly out there. Now that the daughter has come to live with us for a bit, I threatened to leave the book out on display, but that thought was quashed. Some peeps just want to keep up with their nefarious ways.

When its offspring I believe its called parental concern rather than stalking. At least that's what my partner tells me when they do it.

i'm on book four of the bobiverse books. Dennis E Taylor. Hard scifi (sort of). Not bad. Easy to consume. Books for nerds of a certain age is probably the best way to describe them.

I really enjoyed the Bobiverse books, after I read Heaven's River I keep looking out, hoping for more. There is certainly plenty of room left for more stories.

The stories are pretty much limited by the imagination. I'll be keeping my ear to the ground for future books though

I'm a fairly recent Kindle adopter - as regards a dedicated reader machine. Had the app on the ipad for a while though. Lately was reading the latest Elric book by Michael Moorcock...and got about two thirds through it. Unlike the earlier books that I loved, this is a waffling load of word salad shite. I'll gird my loins and finish it sometime to satisfy my completionist tendencies, just not now. Finally got around JB's Zero Day Code books...very enjoyable, even when the the belligerent Town Drunk copped it.

He had it coming.

Thanks for the heads up re Elric book, I hadn't got around to the more recent ones, there are certainly enough to read and they have started to release the earlier collections/books as e-books on kindle so I have been picking them up when they are a daily deal.

muthafuc . . . amazon does the same bloody thing with audible. Australia has a restricted range for some damnable reason. I'm looking for a book, see it it available when i do a google search, get on the audible account and bam. Nothing. I've been looking for this exact book every now and again. I listened to The Black Tongue Thief awhile ago and i've got to say its probably the best author narrated book i've ever come across. Hell, he's one of the better narrators i've come across fullstop. (looking him up on elgoog i can see why, he has a background in performing arts and did a successful gig roasting strangers at renfaires which turned into a successful stage act). Blacktongue Thief is a comedy fantasy trope. Well worth the light read (it was an inbetween book for me when i needed to break up the Malazan book of the fallen series in between books. They are a significant time investment at 40 odd hours per audiobook so i needed something to break them up a bit).
