I'm afraid to ask where the graft came from. Could give a whole new meaning to kiss my ass.

Anyway, my brain is fried. The short story is I collapsed giving blood, whacking my head on the way down, woke up and promptly told the girl, "I've forgotten everything". I've definitely forgotten how to go to sleep properly, and when I do, I have these crazy ass dreams of being in a video game. Food tastes like shite so I'm starving but don't want to eat. I don't want to start work just in case I've forgotten how to do that too.

Gosh, that's awful. Hope things are on the mend for you.

this sounds slightly worrying all from a blood giving exercise!

Put the feet up. If i have to get skin grafts after melanoma surgery i'm going to see if they can get a bit from a hair producing spot. And to steal an old joke from the D gen and satanic sketches - i hope the bit with the curly ones will straighten out eventually.

I am pleased to hear it went well.

From the sound of it, your attitude to recovery is very different to mine. Yours sounds very western white work ethic -must get back to ... as soon as possible. For the next six months I would be " you would want me to finalise this matter, I had a general anaesthetic you know, I'm lucky to be alive".

It's a truth universally acknowledged that a Man Anaesthetic(tm), like a Man Cold(tm), is a very different beast to an ordinary anaesthetic or cold, the recovery from which should not be trifled with.

Put yer damn feet up and enjoy a bit of time off. I know how hard it is to walk away when it is you that is solely responsible for your work but - Ya have to do it! I was due to see the skin doctor 2 weeks ago but ended up in hospital with a heart attack instead. Yep, acute STEMI infarction, thrombylosis, chopper ride and then a stent up the arm and into me heart. I rang my main publisher next morn and said "you are on your own for the forseeable future." Just agreed to start back on light duties from tomorrow. 2 weeks off work and I am itching to get back, but NOT at the expense of being alive.

Keep it all in proper perspective fella...

Slow Horses is so fucking good. And I was delighted to be introduced to it just as Season 3 came out. Meaning I started on S3 by mistake, then learned about Season 1 and 2 and got to watch those, then S3 again.

Gary Oldman is just so fucking amazing. He's awful, and gross, and amazing. I love him, but at a distance, because you know he stinks.

Edit: Uh, glad your noggin fix went good. Yes, meant to include that at the start, but got excited.

Being a salaryperson with annual leave entitlements I took Friday off and gave myself a 4 day weekend. I'm starting to come to the conclusion that I need to plan to do absolutely nothing over the weekend in the hope that I end up tackling my to do list and being productive, since the current strategy of planning to tackle my to do list and be productive is resulting in me doing sweet FA instead.

I'm glad the surgery went well, be gentle with yourself in recovery. Slow Horses is truly magnificent, you think S2 is good wait until you get to S3!
