I am a huge Asimov fanboi, and whilst I did not want/expect an exact adaption of the story, I do think they have buggered up the core plotline a little too much. Agreed season 2 is much better and more coherent then season 1, but I feel they are still "dumbing it down" and should trust the audience can handle a complex plotline some more. To wit, they have bought forward the plots from books 3 and 4 into book 2 when really there is no need to do so. and 1 plotline it seems they have screwed up so much that I havent bothered to watch the last couple episodes it pissed me off so much.......[rant over]......[for now]
I'm the outlier as I thought season 1 was good and haven't enjoyed 2 as much - I found the multiple resurrections a bit much. I did like Brother Constance and Hober Mallow and the cliffhangers at the end were exciting. It's so long since I read the books that I remember the gist but not the details.
I am grateful for those here putting me on to For All Mankind, which I had unaccountably missed and am loving.
anyone got a sneaky couple of taped vhs copies of this so i can watch this series without having to subscribe? Coughing in the background is acceptable but please dont knock the camera or walk in front of it
Can confirm. Also I did read the books (what young teenager of my generation didn't), my editions came with the fantastic covers by Chris Foss. Its an amazing example of an adaptation of a text to screen. There was no way it could be a word for word adaptation but I think the team have done a remarkable job of bringing the themes, timescale and grandeur (the story is EPIC) to the screen. Now we just need to wait for the new season of 'For All Mankind'
Lee Pace was so good as Day. Really enjoyed season two.
Looking forward to Fallout on Prime next year. Walt Goggins is one of my favourite actors.
