yet. Just cant trust you writerly types :)

Although i liked the little read. It was great. Reminds me of my grandfather. He was a lead from the front, use your brain and or guts kind of guy in WW2 according to all reports (and the medals). The guys that were left to attend his funeral said he deserved more medals than he got. They wanted him to walk out front every ANZAC day but he refused and walked in amongst them all (made it bloody hard to get a clear view on the tele each year as kids)

I know little of admiral Nelson, I do recall from an episode of Black Adder the third his famous statement at the Battle for the Nile "England knows Lady Hamilton is a virgin. Poke my eye out and cut off my arm if I'm wrong."

The journey of that courier is a bit mind boggling in an age of instant communications, even an age not so long ago where you could drop a letter in the mail and have it delivered within a couple of days.

That this tyranny of time and distance in comms has been replicated in space is quite interesting; for all the Cruel Stars' technological advances from our time, it's sobering to think that in terms of space exploration and development they're only at the equivalent of the early 19th century.
