I was going to write a little piece about using Perplexity.ai to save myself hours of frustration when I realised a manuscript I was formatting was littered with both kinds of quote marks, curly and straight.
Horrific, and most rage inducing in an almost a tsunami of inducement to rage piece is the addendum where I read "I don’t have time to hear these negative hateful judgements where people have no idea what and who the fuck they are talking about". Who chooses to spend their time spewing hateful rhetoric on this person? The saying 'you are closer to being homeless than being a billionaire' applies to those commentors as well.
remember the old adage "stay away from the bottom half of the internet". Facebook is basically the bottom half of the internet in the top half. . . . with more ads.
Yep. The next great career shift will be in finding those people that can tickle the tummy of the AIs in the right way to get the results that the corporates want. Although I think in about 10 years time there'll be a swing back to people with actual literacy and critical thinking skills who haven't outsourced their thinking and writing capabilities to a bot...
i thought this was going to be some satirical post about AI like that one from the other month . . . . when it slowly dawned on me that this is serious mum.
Once upon a time in the not so distant past, IP Australia's advanced search insisted upon straight quotation marks. If you wrote a string in Word and then pasted it into the advanced search, it would go "no way am I doing that, why don't you just fuck off" but wouldn't tell you why. Retyping the string directly in would work, of course. Hours of fucking frustration. I think it was mentioned in sub sub subsection of what the fuck clause somewhere near the back of the help page.
I'm just hoping to outrun AI for another 7 or 8 years, but my peers seem to be jumping in with both feet.

I didn't read the comments because I never read the comments, but I am definitely not reading the comments now.

Someone who doesn't have time to read an article, but definitely has time to write something nasty.
