I just had to de-mould my standing desk. It was starting to look like background vision from The Last of Us, blanketed in fuzzy green sentient shit, and about five minutes from breaking free and coming after me.
There is black mould in the corner of the office too, an outbreak I thought I had dealt with after the wet season back in January and February. But here we are in May when all good Queenslanders should be breaking out the trackie dacks and uggies and cranking the heater up to 11. Instead it's like we’re deep into the worst, most humid months of summer. It's almost like the weather or maybe the climate is... I don't know... changing or something.
I couldn't find any Exit Mould to spray down the desk, so I went with the internet’s solution of half and half water and vinegar. And now my office smells like a fish and chippery. But at least I avoided the fate of being consumed by hostile fungus.
It does give me an idea for a really good end of the world novel though.
i find that putting in cloves with the vinegar and water works to keep it away as well. Might be a good time to get a dehumidifier in the room. We got one and its amazing the amount of water that thing pulls out of the air.
