You should absolutely join a class action in any jurisdiction that will have you. Do you have a US agent? Maybe sic them onto it?

"OpenAI Pleads That It Can’t Make Money Without Using Copyrighted Materials for Free" why these techduchebros weren't set on fire after that announcement I do not know.

That's actually douchier than saying "you all should just chill out, can't you see we're making the world a better place?"

You should definitely join any class action against Meta for this kind of thing. I hope they get proper fucked for harvesting those books without permission or payment.

I don't hate LLM's either. I refuse to call it AI because I'm a bit anal, but they certainly have their uses.

I just bought one of your books - in the US - from an actual bookshop. IANAL and I doubt anyone would let me BBQ one on TV, but I expect that gives you enough of a casus belli or casus whatever you need to join a US class action.

Yes. One would think that if you engage in commerce in the US (🤔, how many of your books do I own?), you could participate.

Clearly not a lawyer, but I’d be willing to BBQ one on TV.

I saw this over on Chuck Wendig's page. He is a bit salty, as all authors should be. I can just imagine those douche bros saying "they were already pirated, its not like you can steal them twice". AI generated content on instagram is getting harder to tell at a glance as well. Almost ready to bin that app now. It's crawling with bots and makes me itchy just thinking about it.
