I had a surprise email email from Blogger overnight, reminding me I had a blog once. It was called Cheeseburger Gothic.
Huh?
I rashly followed the link and found the single entry I made on that site lo those many years ago. An emergency broadcast following the crash/death of… wait for it… Journalspace!
Some of you will go ‘Huh’ again at that.
Others will simply feel very old.
Jspace hosted the very first incarnation of the Burger, which I set up after reading S.F. Murphy’s review of Weapons of Choice at his Journalspace outpost called, I think, The Pondering Tree. Or maybe the Pondering Spot.
Anyway, it was a pleasure, if a little dubious, to be reminded of how much closer to the end we all are. Blogs, people, civilisation.
The link is here if you want to check it out before the page gets taken back up into Google’s foodchain. You might even find a younger version of yourself in the comments.
That sent a few memory shocks down the synapse network. Miss the Havsy v FKn SJS FkN MUppet cage fights.
I was lurking at the Blunt Instrument some time around then. Took me a good few months to muster up the courage to comment, if I remember rightly.
