I love the rowing machine, John. It’s the only exercise equipment that I am addicted to, and the only one that has caused me to run to the balcony of the gym and heave my guts over rail and into the flowerbeds. And what’s worse, I missed out on a free year of gym membership by 3 seconds if my memory is right. Some bastard did the 500m in 1:16 and the third time I tried to beat him, my guts rebelled. Those were the days. Now I just get into a zen rhythm for 5000m and forget about the world for about 20mins to the sound of european house music.

1:16 is a world class time so I wouldn't feel too bad at missing out. When I was pretty fit and doing regular ergs I could get mid 1:30ish

"And I don't like Dance, which is one of the nine or 10 exercise forms" waiting for the exersise form of 'eye of the Tiger' martial arts mix to accompany your training montage as you prepare to fight Ivan Drago. Or the instruction program as you work through Kung Fu training with a Red Panda (voiced by Dustin Hoffman) providing instruction on your form.
