Finally! Scientists have developed a cockroach-killing laser beam. Well, I guess pretty much any laser beam could kill a roach, but the eggheads at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh designed this thing for just that task. “A tiny computer, two cameras, and a 1,600 milliwatt laser,” it uses ‘machine vision’ to acquire the target.
I for one will hear nothing of any possible downsides. "It'll never be absolutely safe," one of the brainiacs told Futurism magazine. "It's my opinion that it cannot be used for home applications."
But I call that loser talk!
I’m pretty sure if I could strap one of these to the cat, my whole house would be raoch-free in less than a day.
Can it be rigged to play the Terminator theme when its on?
Will it work on visiting relatives? Asking for a friend.
Can it do huntsmen?
Huntsmen? Noooooo.... they are good spiders. But I think one of them could take a laser robot.
Pretty sure that Charlie Stross predicted a Basilisk gun by 2022.
