My only issue with these stories you post is the hunger they induce. Food reviewers in the first few months of the gig must become quickly immune to the siren song of the food or else switch to a health reporter writing on weight issues.

When I was writing for the Good Food Guide we had a reviewing season every year. About 2-3 months when you'd be out eating on the Fairfax tab every day, sometimes twice. I can confirm there is no way to avoid pretty massive weight gain during this period. You have to sample the desserts after all.

yeah, especially when you read this at lunch and you look down at the salad you made (its a tasty combo) but it just doesnt cut it

There is a place in Melbourne (Easy's) who does an Oklahoma fried onion burger its pretty good!
