I enjoyed the first two seasons of Amazon’s Ryan adaptation, and this third one looks both awesome and timely. But the character has moved away from the desk wonk of the Clancy novels.
Always enjoying hearing about stuff people enjoyed, a welcome change from the usual on the internet. I don't mean critical engagement I remember Anita Sarkeesian in her women in videogames series frequently having to explain you can love media and still critically analyze it.
Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, John Wick, etc.. not my yum but doesn't mean I want it to be yucked for those who do.
The Third season suffers from huge upheaval in the world politics in the last 10 months, making the series dated.
Ah that’s a shame. I’ll still watch it though
Loved Jack Ryan. Some of the dialogue was so great: the stock tip for example :)
And almost anything Greer says. And does. "Allright, fuck me? Which hand do you shoot with?"
One of the unusual instances of the filmed version being better than the book.
