On the internet there’s a quote commonly attributed to Arthur Schopenhauer (so who knows?) - Buying books would be a good thing if one could also buy the time to read them in: but as a rule the purchase of books is mistaken for the appropriation of their contents.
This is what I like about borrowing books from my local library (librarians are awesome) I still have a book pile, but I have to read them, return them and regenerate a new book pile.
How very dare you make me feel so seen yet also so attacked sir? 😬
I have emotional support piles of unread books scattered throughout my house. I also have an emotional support pile of unread purchased books and books in my "want to read" list that haven't yet been purchased on two different ebook platforms (iBooks and Kindle).
Ooof. Right in the unreads!
Amen to libraries, and librarians.
