Update. I was supposed to check out this morning and move over to the Little National hotel. (A much nicer, spendier hotel.) But when I got to check out, they literally said, "Oh no sir, you can't leave until tomorrow. You are booked in until tomorrow." Starting to feel very Hotel California now.
Kudos for bowing out gracefully at the last - not that it makes up for his previous behaviour.
I like to think that AustralIa has seen that show before with The Onion Eater and The Bulldozer, and decided not to go there again.
I was hoping for a hung parliament. Fond memories of Messers Windsor and Oakshot. Ah well, will see how Albo decides to spend this round of political capital, or keep it dry for the Trumpocalypse.
Yes, I was hoping for a hung parliament; by the beginning of the final week of the campaign I was convinced he would fall over the line with a small majority, but certainly didn't forsee the scale of the result. Having this much authority and this much of a buffer might result in his team choosing to be braver than we would give them credit for. We can only hope 🤞
Interested in your thoughts on Little National. I stayed once and found the room claustrophobically small and the bed wedged between two walls and the window made me feel like Alice in Wonderland.
"Alpha universe". I imagine you are referring to that brilliant series Counterpart. It always struck me as weird that our universe was Alpha and theirs Prime, as we should be the first or 'prime' universe and theirs, the alpha, beta or other iterations. But thinking about it again this morning, I've come to the shocking realisation that, we, are the parallel universe.
Bit like the hitchhikers guide mkII - it’s one hotel that uses unfiltered perception technology, allowing it to perceive and interact with all Novotel hotel locations across all planes of existence.
Gawd knows where you’ll end up when you go in or out.
Hope you enjoy the conference, and the tally room counting afterwards. Suggest you have a plan in case it hits midnight and Mr Green hasn’t called the winner of the conch shell.
By the beginning of last week I was starting to suspect a Labor majority, just based on my very unscientific anecdotal observations at pre-poll. Never in my wildest dreams did I suspect what happened would happen.
Interesting isn't it. At one stage I worked for Radisson Hotels and Sheraton who have now fallen by the wayside whereas Accor Hotels genuinely seem to rule the world for hotels. I do wish I still had my shares in Accor but I sold them in 2000 to fund my wedding and honeymoon. And I did actually enjoy working for Accor.

Watch out for FBI / ICE types hanging out nearby…
Oh, wait, sorry. Wrong country. We haven’t gone that far, yet. But if spud gets his way…
Thankfully Spud will now NOT get his way 🥳

But the bar is good.

Novotel Hotel California gets tricky on the “unfinding” it
All hotels are linked by Hotelspace, in which case all novotels are one and the same.

Well, that was an election.
Wasn't it just!?!

Hey JB,
what's the difference between Peter Dutton and a Toilet?
A Toilet still has its seat!
😋
