Pulled into an American bar in Lyon for a martini last night and was delighted to find a chili dog waiting to mop up the hard liquor. Went well together. Very well.

As a fellow sophisticant I devoured 2 chili dogs Sunday along with a pile of pomme frites watching football. No real evidence of enlightenment yet but I’ll keep experimenting.

So delicious. I come from the land of the chili dog, and I have never heard of this. The French are geniuses.
Little-known factoid: hot dogs are essentially the national cuisine of Iceland. You can get them everywhere, and they're generally very good.
