Jane and I had cocktails in the city on the weekend. She chanced upon a bar called Dr Gimlette which looked pretty cool, so we decided to suss it out. It was good. Somewhere between the dirty martini and the Theriac’s Remedy (gin, amontillado, dry curacao and citrus syrup, a cure for the Bubonic Plague, apparently) we decided we needed to eat and so decamped to Alba, a Spanish place at the other end of the city. I don’t know what possessed me to order a plate of chillis.
OK, next on my list..... All you fancy Brisbane folk probably know about this one already - Death and Taxes? Cracking cocktail bar in the CBD. My fave ATM is still Stratton though.
looks and sounds very sophisticated. How did the plate of chillis go? (and did the kitchen staff come out to have a look at who ordered them?). Last oktoberfest at a homemade party (as opposed to one of those giant festival ones) someone thought it was a good idea to get a bottle of friesengeist. 56% abv. It tasted like brushing your teeth as an extreme sport.
I misread. Thought she danced upon a bar...

Were they at least stuffed with cheese?

Dirty Martini, and dirty chilli pepppers from the look of it
Looks joyous. "a cure for the Bubonic Plague, apparently" I'm not a medical doctor but I think not.
