HMAS Havoc’s fusion stacks are getting that little bit closer. From Brisbanetimes: Livermore, California: US scientists have achieved net energy gain in a fusion reaction for the second time since December last year, the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory said on Sunday.
Well, not really. It took many times as much energy into the system as came out (they are comparing the *output* of the lasers to the output of the reaction, the lasers are only a few % efficient), and the reaction lasts for a few ms.
This is a nuclear weapon simulator, not a power reactor, there’s no realistic path from it to one.

Might be time to resume my search for a Delorean.
On a related note, has anyone seen my flux capacitor?
This is awesome.
