I agree. "alternate history in popular culture outside of the silos" which mentions another great Apple Series worthy of recognition 'Silo'.
I too look forward to each new season of For All Mankind one of the crew in an interview mentioned how they are all Star trek fans and clearly see where 'For All Mankind' finishes 'Star trek' takes off. This last season I felt like it more likely to lead to the early years of 'The Expanse'. My only caveat is while watching I feel like shouting into the void "Elon, no one thinks you are Dev Ayesa".
I love this show SO much. The first episode I was a bit skeptical, thinking "oh here we go, The Right Stuff updated for the 21st century, more manly men conquering space bollocks" and then the Russians beat the US to landing on the moon and holy shit. Talk about upending expectations.
I have stockpiled the episodes and will now devour them in an (interrupted by work and life and having to do stuff I fucking hate) ORGY of media consumption!
I love this series. It's got some fantastic characters.
I liked seasons 1 & 2, but struggled a bit by season 3. I'll watch season 4 whenever I renew Apple TV because there something else I want to watch on it. Masters of the Sky and Slow Horses may get me to flip the switch on Apple TV again.
I liked the concept more when it was changing known history, but the longer it goes on the further away it gets and just becomes more SciFi.
My hubby & I just started watching. He has always been mad for the history of the space race so this twist is really hitting the spot. I'm the sci-fi nut here, but he watches some stuff with me. 'For All Mankind' does it for both of us. Nice!
In some of the first series they recreate images for the period but since its redone using modern equipment and computer tech they are so much sharper than the pictures of the time and for me it creates a weird opposite of déjà vu.
Jamais vu is often described as the opposite of déjà vu. Jamais vu involves a sense of eeriness and the observer’s impression of experiencing something for the first time, despite rationally knowing that they have experienced it before. (from Wiki)

I'm not finished S4 yet, but I was thinking that Elon would be convinced that Dev was based on him 😂
Your comments are spot on. Even my wife loves it and she does not usually like sci if.
Hoping the series gets renewed.
Keep you calendar clear on January 26th: Masters of the Sky are coming
That looks good for sure

Slow Horses is 100% worth the switch back to Apple TV, it's SO GOOD
