I was never a huge fan of Star Trek: Next Gen. Not after Beverly Crusher totally wimped on a chance to wipe out the Borg forever because, like, ‘Do we really have the right to do that?"‘ or some rubbish.
But I enjoyed the last season Picard which fought against being a Next Gen reboot, until its third and final outing when everyone just went ‘Fuck it. Lets do this thing.’
The first two seasons were a bit weird and patchy, although I enjoyed them too. In fact it’s almost like three separate shows, the way it evolved so rapidly from year to year.
I’ll post no spoilers, because I’m not a monster. But if you have access to it, and you were a fan of TNG, I reckon you’ll love it. There’s massive amounts of fan service and some real love between the old stagers on screen. I liked the way they reached into the other series for cameos and I got a little dust in my eye at the end.
Great send off . Ro Laren in particular had a cool redemption with Picard and Star Fleet. Last season in particular was not great. But they know what Trekkies want . Space battles and splosions .
we are almost there as well. Got a bit delayed. Enjoying it as well but we stopped for a while because we were sick of the non options on streaming services and started watching Next Gen over, then picard, then lower decks and i got a bit trekked out if you know what i mean? But it was funny watching them all in parallel and getting the references in real time "we just watched that! that's hilarious". And not sure if this is the forum for it or not but i'd just like to say fuck all the Q episodes (even though they inform a hell of a lot of backstory). Oh how i chortled in that lower decks episode when our intrepid grunts had just had to deal with some heavy stuff and Q turns up at the end and Mariner is like "get lost Q we dont have time for your bullshit" and just wander off.
Can confirm I did indeed love it. I missed some of the character and stories from season 2, which the writers for season 3 simply went with -No that didn't happen.
Well, that trailer has got me in.

Yeah, I thought the second season was a bit weak, but S3 really pulled it back in.

I do, but that's the business model now. A constant supply of Trek on the streamers, particularly CBS, so you can never unsubscribe.

I don't need Picard S4. I do need Enterprise : The New Generation
I would watch the shit out of that.
