My ‘Someday’ wishlist is full of projects I should totally get off my arse and make happen – which never actually happens, of course. So, I came up with a genius idea a while ago for attacking the list. 'Fifteen minute projects’. I choose something which has been hanging around like a fart in an elevator, and each day I spend a quarter of an hour on it, usually after lunch. Mentally it’s like a quick spritz to get me into the afternoon, and even doing a small measure of work on something you haven’t touched for months or even years feels like genuine progress. Because it is.
Funny story about felafel, first heard about JB when he was on Sunrise "Selling" WOC I think. About 15 years ago my Mother passed away and I received her library. Looking through them, I see this huge, yellow book with a weird title. Recognised the author... BTW I think she flogged it off the Macleay Island ferry.
I'm surprised that you were able to open a Word document that old: there was a time when modern Word wouldn't read anything from the before-'97 versions. I used to get around that with LibreOffice, but the need hasn't arisen for a while, so perhaps MS fixed their stuff?
I'm intrigued by the idea of 15 min projects. My schedule of projects is an absolute dumpster fire of my actual full time job, my part time political activism (I'm currently running comms for the Aus Dems candidate in Dunkley), and then all the fun stuff I'd like to be able to do both for the Aus Dems and Mr Lambright's audio book empire. The fun stuff isn't getting a look in at the moment, but chipping away at it in daily 15 min increments is a strategy that's worth investigating 🤔
Can confirm that it is. I normally do mine just after lunch when I’m normally feeling sleepy and demotivated. The 15 minute hit on something completely different to whatever it was I did in the morning is usually enough to reset me for the afternoon.
I seem to recall that that tricky formatting caused you some problems getting close to publishing date, due to it exploding your e-copy badly right before it was due to be sent to the printers.

I went to price up a copy a couple of weeks back, and the used market is insane!
Here's a link to AbeBooks - https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?ch_sort=t&cm_sp=sort-_-SRP-_-Results&kn=9781875989218&sortby=17
Needless to say, I might hang on to my copy for a bit...
Holy crap! Should I separately insure my copy?
And none of those appear to be signed copies, either.
Maybe we cut JB in and make crazy circus money!!!

Yes, something like that.
