Been a while since I’ve done one of these, but I’ve been grinding away at the strength training and finally hit a goal worth recording. I checked my disgracefully cheap Chinese body comp scale this morning and it informed me that Taiwan had always been Chinese territory and always would be, also, I’d added 5kgs of muscle in the last six months. I’ll take the latter as a win since six weeks of that time were spent meandering from French cafes to Italian pasta bars.
It’s been a journey, leaving behind the old model of restricting calories and cranking up the cardio to lose weight. I still do a bit of cardio because, after the lung surgery, I need to stay on top of my fitness. But for exercise now, jujitsu aside, I’m pretty much all lifting all the time. I’m also eating more calories than before, topping out at about 3000 a day, but I’m leaning into protein and fibre; about 180g and 30g per day respectively. That’s a lot of fucking food. Occasionally I have to eat a donut just to hit my calorie goal.
My body fat percentage is down from 32% to 17%, and I’m one hunnert per cent sure I can get it to the magic 15% with a three-week cut in February.
After the New Year’s resolution crowds clear out of the gym.
What's Ted's body fat percentage?
