I’ve been having problems focusing and delivering over the last few months. The election was a distraction, of course. And before that, the invasion of Ukraine. Seriously. I had a bad Twitter list addiction. I had to go cold turkey for a while.
But I haven’t been on my A-game since I got sick last year and spent three days in the hospital during a lockdown, waiting to be told I had lung cancer and a minimal number of months to enjoy it. Put the zap on my head, I reckon.
Long story short, I need to build a bit of rigour back into my routine, so I’m gonna post daily word counts and occasional summaries here, mostly for me.
Apologies in advance.
Social media ranks right up there with cigarettes on the top worst inventions all time.
5,000 words and you get a glass of red in the evening. It's a good incentive.
Graham Greene wrote 500 words per day on 5 days each week. It took him 1.5-2 hours per day. He was very disciplined about it. He said, even an affair would have to wait until after lunch. He did ok though.

Those hovercrafts aren't going to gold-plate themselves, you know.

No apologies needed, word counts and summaries are on my top 3 reasons to read your blog, the other two being clever writing/opinions and food/dog pics.
