I had a bit of a day yesterday. I was scheduled to visit my dermo to get a bunch of stitches pulled after a skin cancer excision about two weeks ago. There were a lot of stitches, and I was looking forward to seeing them out. Unfortunately, they were infected, so my five-minute visit turned into one-and-a-half hours of faffing around and a prescription for some antibiotics. I may have to go back again next week because I had a second growth that turned out to be a subdermal carcinoma. So, probably even more stitches in my near future if I have to go back and get the edges of that one done.
It wasn't all bad, however. I did get my last piece of home gym equipment delivered, this bad boy right here, a Rogue Echo 3 air bike.
My mate (and PT) Darren helped me put it together, but I probably won’t be feeling as good about him the first time he makes me use it. Oh, and that’s Ted lying by the bike. He’s not having a rest after smashing out a massive HIIT session. He’s just very lazy.
Because of the stitches, I've been pretty restricted in what I can do the last couple of weeks, so yesterday’s exercise was mostly just walking around the hills of Paddington while Jane had a swim. It's hard rubbish pick-up week over in Paddo, my second favourite week of the year. I was on the lookout for a really stand-out piece of crap, and I think I found it in this antique CD cabinet.
It’d been dumped on the curb with a couple of moulded, plastic barstools, and I could imagine the owners knocking back Pina Coladas and listening to the Bee Gees while debating the merits of hyper-colour teeshirts. A little further on, I found this very well-organised collection of abandoned sporting equipment, including a rusted-out rowing machine that was once upon a time a top-shelf bit of kit.
I guess everything ends up as hard rubbish eventually, including, one day, my nice new air bike.

Ted isn't lazy, he's a Native Pool Lion out of his natural environment, of course he's going to be struggling a bit and in need of a lie down.
