I dunno that I’ll get a single word written today.

I spent a couple of hours this morning dealing with a car lease company I should have finished with a year and a half ago. When I paid out the lease on the Mini eighteen months ago, they were supposed to update the register to show ownership transferring from them to us.

Did they do that? No. No, they did not.

And so, when we went to trade the Mini in Friday afternoon, Volvo were very apologetic but said, “We can’t take delivery of this — it says it’s still owned by the leasing company.” There followed many hours of unpleasantness, which were finally resolved mid-morning today by somebody at the leasing company opening a laptop, entering about six keystrokes and doing what they should have done a year and a half ago. But only after I threatened to refer them to the regulator.

Having dealt with that, I got a text from our home insurer asking if somebody would be home next week to look after the builders doing some roof repairs. That arose from the cyclone earlier this year, and led to another couple of hours of administrivia.

So it’s now lunchtime, I haven’t written a single word of the book and I’m thinking this might just be one of those days you write off entirely.
