… by Kevin Kelly, who founded Wired magazine among other interesting things. He’s just turned 70, and he’s been writing down his most interesting thoughts for most of his recent decades. (Indeed, one such thought is to ‘write it down’, because you totally will forget it.
“The consistency of your endeavors (exercise, companionship, work) is more important than the quantity. Nothing beats small things done every day, which is way more important than what you do occasionally.”
Improving the world.
“Courtesy costs nothing. Lower the toilet seat after use. Let the people in the elevator exit before you enter. Return shopping carts to their designated areas. When you borrow something, return it better shape (filled up, cleaned) than when you got it.”
And just the really, really useful.
“When you open paint, even a tiny bit, it will always find its way to your clothes no matter how careful you are. Dress accordingly.”
Acknowledgments to John Gruber, who found and linked to this.
I chuckled at the "...and pillaging". and while T.S Elliot never said "good writers borrow, great writers steal" he did say “Immature poets imitate; mature poets steal; bad poets deface what they take, and good poets make it into something better, or at least something different.”
If you have even one good true friend in life you’re lucky. I mean someone who would drop everything to come and help no matter what the situation. BTW just finished Shattered Skies. Hell of a fun ride . Congrats
i had a chuckle at the buy used books one. Felt sure you would have said "except for anything authored by John Birmingham". lol
KK & his cool tools are a gem. Wise, this Yoda is.

It’s a great list. I feel like I may have even worked a few out myself already.
I think that's why I like it so much.
