The Axis of Time returns with World War 3.1

It’s been a while since Manning Pope punched the Big Red Button that tore a honking great hole in the fabric of spacetime and dropped a massively overpowered aircraft carrier battle group from the future back into the Second World War.

Long enough that that imagined future is now in our actual past.

Weapons of Choice, released in 2004, begins in January 2021, when a multinational naval force from a vaguely dystopian future was conveniently Magyvered back in time to kick Hitler’s ass. Of course, our for-real-2021 turned out to be way more literally dystopian than I imagined back in 04, so that’s on me.

It’s been weird writing an alternate history from an alternate future, but good weird. We didn’t get those sweet, sweet fusion stacks I wanted, but smart phones turned out to be way more powerful than flexipads. Also, think how rich I’d be now from licensing agreements with Tim Apple if I’d just called them iPads.

Sigh.

Oh well. I’ll just have to make it up in book sales.
