I totally stole that (and tweaked it) from John Gruber’s comprehensive rundown of the gigantic clown car crash that is the TikTok ban/shutdown/forced divestiture.

I’m so fucking glad I didn’t invest a heap of time growing a book audience over there.

I’ve kept that shit off my phone and out of my brain mostly for reasons of focus. Not having Chinese government malware in your back pocket is a good reason, too.

I do feel for all the TikTok kids who’ve built their business on the platform, though. Pretty fucking bleak days for them.

I wonder what it’s like for all the dopamine addicts who cant get a fix now?
