Pour one out for Disco Stu.
Sad news yesterday from GirlClumsy. Her podcast pal and my old BT colleague Stuart Layt has passed away after a short, brutal fight with cancer.
Stu was a regular around here and at various previous incarnations of the Burger, a delightful man, wise and witty. He is a great loss, most of all to his young family.
I got a message to him just before he died, promising to put him in a book. He was pleased with that and with all of the messages he received in his final days. He didn’t realise he was so popular. The nice ones never do.
This is just so heartbreaking. I never had the honour of meeting Stu, but interacted with him on Twitter a bit and of course listened to Raven On. He really was such a genuine, delightful man, what a shattering loss.
A suitable memorial would be to make him the heroic yet humble lead in his own series 😍
And the world is left very much the poorer.
