I’ll spare you the horror shot of the wound site, but I visited my surgeon this morning for a post op check on the melanoma excision. We’re still waiting on pathology to see if he got all the edges, but I’d hope so, given the size of the scalping.
The dressing came off this morning, and hoo-boy, that is some top shelf body horror I got going on there. But the nurse assured me it actually looked really good (for some fucked-up value of really good) because the graft had taken well and the colour was ‘very nice’.
There’s no massive divot in my scone, which was a pleasant surprise, but it’ll look like Hannibal Lector’s breakfast pudding for a couple of weeks while it heals.
Still, beats the alternative.
