Normally I dread opening my post office box these days, because it’s almost always a bill. So it was a pleasant surprise to go down the hill this morning and find these bad boys waiting for me. Hardback author copies of the next anthology from John Ringo’s Black Tide Rising series, a rollicking zombiepocalypse.
I contributed a Caitlin Monroe to the first collection, rewriting the first chapter of After America, where she wakes up in hospital, to have her wake up in the middle of an undead uprising. This one picks up her story, transplanted to Ringo’s world, about ten years later. In a call back to both After America and that first adaptation, she’s taken up residence in the fortified French Secret Service base of Noisy le Sec.
It was good fun to write. I do enjoy these cross projects.
I remember this.
Both those stories were awesome!
